- Service shall be provided by a Microsoft Windows-based EVD server application and POS client applications that connect. The following details are implemented to allow Mobile Top-Up services processing through the EVD solution:
- Creating the Vendors (MNO Operator): the EVD solution will allow 3 mobile network operators to be created at the rate agreed per operator. Any additional operator or service with 3rd party connectivity can be deployed at an agreed price.
- Creating Products for Vendor: the EVD solution will allow to create up to 10 products for each operator (the EVD system will allow to configure up to 3*10 = 30 products).
- Creating denominations for vendor products: the EVD solution will allow to creation of up to 20 denominations for each Product (the EVD system will allow configuring up to 3*10 = 30 products and 30 * 20 = 600 different denominations).
- Creating the Distributor: the EVD solution will allow to creation of unlimited distributors based on business requirements.
- Creating Retailers / Agents: the EVD solution will allow to creation of unlimited Retailers based on business requirements. In the system architecture design, only a distributor can create retailers and retailers cannot be created by the admin.
- Wallet creation: the EVD solution will allow to creation of prepaid wallets for Distributors when a Distributor account is created. EVD solution will allow to creation of prepaid wallets for Retailers when a retailer account is created by the Distributor. (retailer) wants to sell the service (Airtime) from POS, the agent account should have enough funds to perform the transaction. The option to provide credit for the service will also be available (daily credit limit to be assigned for each retailer).
- The distributor will pay the wallet amount to the EVD admin (the distributor creator) and the retailer will pay the wallet amount to the distributor (the retailer creator).
- Sales commission: EVD software supports a sales commission hierarchy of up to four levels, where indirect commissions can be paid to each agent in the hierarchy when the sale is made. All commissions are calculated and disbursed online, i.e. in real-time when the sales transaction takes place, or can also be transferred to the agent wallet account on a monthly basis.
- Web Users: the EVD solution will allow the creation of web user accounts, admin users, Distributors, and Retailers.
- POS and Kiosk version control: the EVD solution will allow to sending of the latest version app to POS Terminals and kiosks whenever an updated version is uploaded to the server. For every client log-in to the server, the EVD server will validate the client version, if the version does not match with the latest version at the server, the server will send the latest app download flag to the client to download the latest version. When the client has downloaded the latest version and attempts to log in to the EVD server. The latest version must be downloaded in order to properly access the EVD server.
- EVD provides the option of creating additional services such as PIN-less transaction integration, international calling cards, mobile data bundles, post-paid bill payments, mobile money transactions, utility bill payments, DTH bill payments, different types of government tax collections, agency banking, university/school payment collections, 3rd party tickets (bus tickets, ferry tickets, train tickets, movie tickets, sports stadium tickets, etc), traffic police offense ticket payments, vehicle tax payments, road tax payments and other applications.
- Daily Sales Report: admin/distributor/retailer has access to this report and can review individual transactions of all service sales each day with the shift user level. It supports ten shift user levels transaction display.
- Retailer Sales Report: Displays the overall sales amount of all services.
- Stock Report: displays the unused PINs Qty stored, used PINs Qty, last day sales qty, Last 10 days sales qty, terminal Stock.
- Deposit Summary Report: Displays the Distributor/Retailer previous balance, deposited amount, new balance after deposit, deposited date and time, User name, and comments.
- Firmware upload Report displays the Retailer details with MAC ID which are updated with the latest POS firmware.
- Event Log: Displays each and every action performed by admin user/distributor users and retailers.
- Statement of Account report: Displays the records of each and every transaction that takes place in the retailer account such as opening Balance debit, credit, transaction amount, shift user ID, and closing balance.
- Consolidated Daily Sales Report: Displays the overall sales of all services such as eTop-up transaction amount and the E-pins transaction amount for each Retailer and grand total of all services amount.
EVD API To Fetch Pins on Demand
The EVD application will fetch Top-Up vouchers (PINs) on demand from the Network operators available in the country when the transaction is initiated by the end-user. Extra functionality will be added to store a number of PINs in each hardware in case of internet/network downtime to avoid any delays and provide a seamless purchase experience.
This Project enables and serves Mobile telecom services through various POS Terminals and KIOSKs, a structured way of region / Partner/ Distributor/Reseller-terminal hierarchy. This system allows the distributor to manage its sub-distributors /resellers, in addition to transferring credit and stock to its subs.
Merchants can purchase stocks directly from the system (Online Purchase) or create and download orders for later sales (Offline Purchase). Distributors can also enjoy the ability to create and push stock to their merchants’ terminals through an easy-to-use web-based interface.
The EVD platform supports both online and offline-denominated vouchers within the Top-Up application:
Denominated vouchers are of fixed value and are loaded into a secure voucher store in EVD for offline storage, and retrieved from the store at the time of the sale. Examples of denominated vouchers are prepaid airtime vouchers, and denominated discount vouchers - any voucher that can be stored offline, electronically as a number, and sold at a later date
Denominated vouchers are of a fixed value and are loaded into a secure voucher store in EVD for offline storage, and retrieved from the store as Bulk Download into the POS/KIOSK Machines. These vouchers upon download to POS/KIOSK are stored within in POS/KIOSK database in the format of Offline Pins. These offline Pins can be served to customers as and when a customer walks in. POS/KIOSK doesn’t need to connect again to the Server platform to buy/request a pin. Examples of denominated vouchers are prepaid airtime vouchers, and denominated discount vouchers - any voucher that can be stored offline, electronically as a number, and sold at a later date
Pinless recharge refers to the mechanism of dispensing value electronically without vending a denominated electronic voucher to the customer. An example is PINless recharge for prepaid airtime, where a customer's prepaid cell phone account can be recharged by any amount specified by the customer without dispensing a voucher
